Project Description
GAIJIN BLUES
Gaijin Blues is Paweł Klimczak (a producer and DJ, aka Naphta) and Michał Szczepaniec (multi instrumentalist, member of e.g. Kadabra Dyskety Kusaje). They blend sounds inspired by Japanese music and culture – jazz, fusion as well as rock and metal – with Western beat music (house, trap and juke/footwork). The duo debuted on Shapes of Rhythm in 2019 with an EP and LP of tracks deeply rooted in Japanese pop culture, mostly anime and role playing games. Gaijin Blues performed at London’s Jazz Cafe, Servant Jazz Quarters, Rye Wax, Islington Assembly Hall and Up to Date Festival, among others.
